Rich Nelson, J.D.

Rich has more than 25 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions. He currently is executive vice president of corporate development at Vericast, a marketing services company where he is responsible for the identification and execution of global merger and acquisition opportunities. He is also executive vice president of corporate development and a board member of vTv Therapeutics, a clinical pharmaceutical company that has received breakthrough designation from the FDA for its Type 1 Diabetes drug. In addition, Rich manages Nelstone Ventures, an investment fund he founded to syndicate investment opportunities that he sources and participates in.

Rich is a member of the board of directors and is the primary fundraiser for Think Pink Rocks, a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about early detection of and genetic testing for breast cancer and to provide funding for research. He co-founded the organization in 2005 with his sister, Stephanie Robin, a breast cancer survivor who tested positively for the breast cancer gene mutation BRCA.

Rich, an avid and competitive marathoner, leveraged his love for running and his sister with his desire to raise crucial monies to raise awareness about the breast cancer gene and to fund cutting-edge breast cancer research. Over the past several years, he has recruited more than 500 people to run the New York City Half Marathon and more than 300 people to run the TCS New York City Marathon in support of raising funds for Think Pink Rocks. Starting in 2014, Rich was able to combine these efforts with his passion for the University of Michigan, his alma mater, as the Breast Oncology Center at the Rogel Cancer Center became one of the primary beneficiaries of funds raised for Think Pink Rocks.

Prior to Vericast, he served as senior vice president of global corporate development at the Nielsen Company, as managing director and senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions at IAC/InterActiveCorp., and in leadership roles at Trendum, n/k/a Nielsen BuzzMetrics, and RSL Communications. Rich began his career as a mergers and acquisition attorney at Skadden.

Rich earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration (finance) with high distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He also holds a J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law.
