David Kribs was born in London, England, the son of a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy. He lived overseas during most of his childhood, including in Morocco and Puerto Rico. Finally settling down in Denver, Colorado, he graduated from Cherry Creek High School before going on to study both marine biology and computer science at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.

David is currently enjoying retirement after a 30-year career in the banking and financial services industries. His positions included leadership roles in accounting, treasury, operations management, project management, relationship management, and business development. Prior to retirement, David worked for First Data Corp., where as a director of business development and relationship management he was responsible for managing banking relationships nationwide.

David has served on multiple steering committees throughout his career, with the primary scope and responsibility of providing recommendations and guidance on policy, resource allocation, cross-functional coordination, budget control, strategy, and information technology project initiatives.

David and his fiancé, Marci Carris, reside in Denver. They support the U-M Athletic Department and have created two scholarships at the University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business as well as an endowed research fund at Michigan Medicine. In addition to serving on the Rogel Cancer Center National Advisory Board, David has volunteered since May 2011 with the animal care team as a keeper at the Denver Zoo.

“I am honored to serve on the inaugural board for the Rogel Cancer Center and look forward to adding my perspective and business experience to what will be very productive conversations,” David says. “We have experience with a cancer scare and know how important progress will be.”
