At the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center, we have taken translational research - moving basic science to clinical application - to a higher level.
Our Translational and Clinical Research (TACR) Program was created to integrate and extend the distinct disease programs by creating the scientific organizational framework to share information and ideas. This translation of discoveries and observations will allow a better understanding of pathways, biomarkers and treatment methods common to multiple diseases. This strong collaboration will then help move the basic scientific knowledge into the clinical application to improve not only the diagnosis and treatment of cancers, but also lead to improved prevention approaches.
