Guided Imagery Audio Library Descriptions
An Introduction to Guided Imagery
The first part of the podcast explains guided imagery, its uses and tips on how best to make use of it. The second part of the podcast offers a short imagery focused on relaxation.
Recommended for: beginners to guided imagery; fear or anxiety.

Stillness Meditation
A brief meditation intended to provide a few quiet, refreshing moments during any busy and stressful day. It can be a very helpful few minutes to take a break or refocus prior to resuming the day. The spoken part of the meditation is about 5 minutes in length. The music continues for ongoing meditation. The total running time is 9-and-a-half minutes.
Recommended for: dealing with fear, anxiety, stress.

Meditation for Perspective and Balance
This meditative imagery is intended to help find or regain and maintain a sense of balance when you feel stressed, anxious or overly busy. The spoken meditation is just over 7 minutes long. The music continues for ongoing meditation for a total running time of about 15 minutes.
Recommended for: dealing with anxiety, stress.

A Meditation on Breathing
This simple meditation focuses on using your breath to find calm and comfort. The spoken portion of the meditation is 7 minutes long. The music continues for a few more meditative moments. The whole experience is about 15 minutes in duration.

Releasing at Day's End
This is a brief experience of guided imagery intended to help release any tension or stored discomfort at the end of the day, and to transition into safe, soft space for rest. The spoken portion runs just under 6 minutes. The music continues for another 25 minutes to enhance the releasing, restful sensations of the imagery.
Recommended for: dealing with anxiety, stress, pain.

Daily Intention
Imagery that is designed to help prepare you for the day - to use your inner resources to ensure well-being and freedom throughout the day. As you'll hear, the experience is set at the beginning of the day, but the imagery can be useful and powerful at any time of the day, so don't worry about needed to listen first-thing in the morning.
Recommended for: dealing with fear or anxiety.

Imagery for Caregivers
The imagery is designed for anyone who is or has been a caregiver. While the rewards of caring for a friend or loved one with an illness can be very meaningful, we also know that caregiving often requires remarkable effort. Here's an opportunity for relaxation and replenishment for the caregiver.

Inner Advisor or Council Imagery
The imagery is designed to assist with finding and experiencing the support and wisdom of a "guide" or "council of advisors." The desire for support or guidance when we are in stressful circumstances is very common - and often a sign of health. This imagery will suggest a way to obtain insight or wisdom or the supportive presence of those whom you trust or treasure.
Recommended for: for coping with fear/anxiety and/or upsetting emotions.

Pain Relieving Imagery
This imagery is designed to assist with experiences of pain...to reduce or even dissipate pain. For some of us, just the sound of the word "pain," and our associations with it, can generate a physical reaction of resistance. Throughout this experience, see if you can allow yourself to stay open to the suggestions of releasing to receive comfort. Each time you allow yourself to listen and practice this imagery your response will become more effective and powerful. Be sure to practice it initially at times when you are not in acute pain so that you may become familiar with it.

Relaxation and Light for Healing
This imagery is designed to help you reduce stress and anxiety. During the course of the day, factors such as health, life circumstances or responsibilities compete for attention and energy. This can result in stress, worry or anxiety. Listening to this imagery can allow the body to release its healthy, healing powers. In turn, this results in an increased ability to cope, manage, rest and feel in control.
Recommended for: for reducing stress, anxiety and/or relaxation.
