Artist's Statement

My Architectural Art is an activity of making to inspire, envision, promote finding oneself and for sharing meaning. It invites the brush to co-operate with the pencil, the paint with unique colors, and the curious brain with a resilient heart - All in constant flux. Therefore, my work has become an art of assembling many components of life as well as the elements I come across in selective material collections, color pallets, hardware and nature elements that help me and inspire me to create.

My exhibition concept relates to the emotional interaction and intersection of the creative fields of Architecture, Musicality, Survival, Nature, and the Bible. As an abstract painter my art profession began about twenty-two years ago after I faced brain cancer and then progressed through months of treatment and physical and emotional recovery. Additionally, as a brain cancer survivor, the exhibition includes a topic of being alive as I found hope and strength in the creation of art by being an architectural designer, musician, backpacker, and teacher. I continue to grow and move forward emotionally by faith, a preserving attitude and by always putting the art of art and the art of life together.
