Life Images of Today and Tomorrow
Utilizing photography for Rogel Cancer Center patients and families, Life Images of Today and Tomorrow offers portrait photography in a partnership between the Complementary Therapies Program and faculty the Washtenaw Community College Photography program
Washtenaw Community College Photography program students and faculty offer the opportunity for portrait photography sessions on site at the Rogel Cancer Center. Select images in both black/white and color are given to those photographed on a flash drive along with informative tools about the meaning of photographs and suggestions for integrating images into expressive creations. Aligned with Art Therapy, workshops and individual sessions are also available for patients to create art with the images.
These therapeutic opportunities will be offered monthly for patients and their families. Patients who would most benefit can be referred at any point in their care. PFSS staff will screen patients and schedule them for photography sessions. To refer patients or for further information, please contact the Patient & Family Support Services program at 734-615-4012.
This alliance was made possible by a Friends Gift Shops of Michigan Medicine grant that has supported the funding of equipment and resources for this photography opportunity offered to patients at no cost to them.
