In a Better Place

Artist's Statement

Two years ago I was admitted to hospital for a relapse of my leukemia and during this time my life felt dark and lonely. It was at this time I was introduced to my first paint set by a staff member. Later that week I started art therapy and realized how much this helped to get my emotions out. Since then I have continued to make art on my own time.

Going though cancer and battling mental health on my own means there are many obstacles that I have to face. Making art and painting my thoughts and feelings helps me release them and not hold them in. Some of my art is influenced by an artist named Henn Kim, a Korean illustration artist.
