Cancer Center link to University Hospital is closed on Level B1

Ann Arbor - After Tuesday's water line break which affected the U-M Cancer Center, University Hospital, and the Medical Science 1 buildings, scheduled patient care for Wednesday has been accommodated through rescheduled appointments or relocated treatment elsewhere in the Health System.
Cancer clinics as well as infusions scheduled for today have been moved to the new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital, Taubman Center and Med Inn.
Cancer Center clinics and infusion will reopen Thursday, Jan. 12, as well as all phlebotomy and radiology services on Level B2. The most severely affected areas at the east end of Level B1 of the Cancer Center will remain closed until at least the end of the week as cleanup continues.
The clinics typically held in this area will be relocated to other locations on B1 or in Children's and Women's Hospital clinics. More information about the reopening of this area will be shared by the end of the week. Cleanup in most other areas is complete or close to complete. There was minimal flood damage on the east end of Level B2 and no damage on Levels 1 and 2. The Level B1 link between the Cancer Center and University Hospital is closed until the cleanup is complete.
"We want to thank and recognize the many faculty and staff who came together to assist during this situation," says Max S. Wicha, M.D., director of the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center.
"We are also fortunate that we could use space at the new Children's and Women's Hospital. We're grateful for the staff there for accommodating additional patients," says Marcy Waldinger, M.H.S.A. chief administrative officer at the U-M Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Cleanup continues in other support areas, notably Respiratory Therapy on UH Level B1.
Investigation of the source of the water line break is underway.
