PsychOncology Clinic

Patients may be referred to the PsychOncology Clinic for focused, individualized support and counseling

The PsychOncology Program at the Rogel Cancer Center is devoted to relieving the numerous negative social and psychological effects of the disease. The Program is comprised of staff from a number of U-M departments, all specializing in helping people face the emotional issues unique to cancer. Staff members including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, clinical social workers and complementary therapists are available for consultation and counseling in the PsychOncology Clinic. The clinic offers comprehensive screening to determine a patient’s level of distress and specific concerns. Working together, the patient and the trained counselor can then develop an action plan to help reduce the distress.
